Premier Inn - Sheffield City Center
The hotel is in a Great location being in the middle of the city. Minutes away are Lidl, McDonald's, Poundland, GDK and Wendy's.
staff are warm and welcoming and the rooms are tidy and clean.
Having free WiFi when you stay here is nice but it's throttled, paying extra for faster internet is not recommended and you'll get better internet using your own mobile network.
Check in 3pm and Check out 12:00pm
Firstly, the reception staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. On arrival, there were complications because Premier Inn had cancelled my stay at the other city centre hotel and hadn't informed me in the email of other arrangements. While spending 2 hours on the phone trying to sort it out, a message was left by the other hotel that I'd be staying here but Angel Street had no knowledge of this. The receptionist however gave me a room straight away without any problems. The room was above the dining room and I could hear chairs scraping and loud voices until just after midnight. The soundproofing was not as good as other Premier Inns. The room was also cold when I went in and the climate control just blew cool air. I had to sleep with my head under the duvet due to the cold yet without the noisy climate system on the temperature seemed to rise slightly. The breakfast was disappointing; the poached eggs were served in a pool of water, there was no muesli, no yoghurt, no fruit salad and the hash browns were soft. Also a lack of cutlery (in Sheffield!) and bowls. Most of the tables were dirty and it seemed it was understaffed, there being only three people including the cook.

Multiple guests not able to get the reduced rate parking which is stated on the app. Reception say they have no tickets from NCP and do not have any discount code, so you will pay full price. This was happening when we arrived and when we left so been going on for at least 2 days, either remove the details from the website or get the discount code - not good enough to say it’s not our car park so we can’t do anything.
Room itself and location were great!
You know what to expect with a Premier Inn. Friendly helpful staff at check-in, clean working bathroom, comfy bed. This stay was a bit pricey as the snooker was on and one lift wasn't working. Very convenient location 5 minutes walk to the cathedral area. NCP car park around the corner, discount card worked just as they said it would, it's now £13.50 for 24hrs.
My colleague and I took two adults who have learning disabilities on a trip to Sheffield to watch the snooker.
We arrived at the hotel a little earlier than planned and we were very kindly checked in before 3pm which we really appreciated.
Room was spotless and had all we needed.
Beds were really comfortable.
Have to mention Aiden who was absolutely fantastic during our two night stay. He went over and above and was so friendly and helpful. He even remembered where we’d sat for breakfast the day before!
Breakfast was outstanding too! So much choice!
He is an absolute credit to the team and the guys we were supporting thought he was brilliant too.
They can’t wait to return.
Also, the hotel was very close to the Crucible, only a few minutes walk!
Wetherspoons up the road, a Lidl, tenpin bowling and bingo all nearby. Really well placed.
Thank you so much Premier Inn! We loved it!
